Cameroon
During the summer of 2013 I had the privilege of participating in a California Academy of Sciences research expedition to Cameroon, Africa. It was my first trip to the old world, let alone Africa, and it was exciting and different in ways that I never anticipated. My role on the trip was to collect and maintain live specimens for export back to the aquarium at the Academy. I also took photos on white backgrounds of many of the specimens that were being collected so there would be a record of their coloration in life as many of the specimens will be preserved in formaline, which does not preserve coloration. This gallery is a sample of the images that were produced on the trip. Editing of the images is coarse for now. I will make a more formal gallery with photo descriptions in time but I just wanted to get a bunch of stuff up now for people to look at. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Caecilians were on our target list. Finding them requires a lot of digging in the mud in hot and humid conditions. The group ended up finding 2 species on the trip.
